Flip Jackson Verse Three: Me and Jones go back like a Jordan Retro.. talking 911 twin towers Boston Metro.. Railroad Street, where I saw my first trees.. Recording at my mom cribs on my own beats.. Never been a block boy came from side streets.. Always was a hot boy and never even banged heat.. On the black top aiming for the big league.. Until a coach benched me for black nikes cuz my wide feet.. Dropping 30 so I took my focus elsewhere.. Shit crazy I’m almost 30 with no health care.. I been on it early learning about that self care.. This earth is dirty when you living in this hell here.. I ain’t preaching I’m just reaching for a better way.. Spent so many days in rain tryna erase the pain.. Took my self up out the race too many rats today.. So when i’m paying dues I’m paying for my seeds one day..

about

DGS Records & Flip Jackson are back for the fourth week of #THCTuesday's with a rare and special collaboration with Cambridge, MA recording artist God Jones Jr.

God Jones Jr & Flip Jackson go back to Flip's hometown days in Maynard, MA where Jones was the first person to ever record at Flip's home studio at his Pops crib back in 2007! There's a lot of history between the two from the Boy's & Girls Club, Basketball and rapping/freestyling in middle school/high school or recording regardless of how many years have passed.

Jones sets the cinematic and pain ridden military style drum pattern & boom bap trap instrumental off with energy and bravado about taking the road less traveled and being militant while dealing with haters, enemies and women in the lifestyle that comes with it.

Karolina Kardo follows up the eerie and conversational hook laid down by Jones Jr with a classic Southern style rap about the street tales and ups and downs of life in the trenches.

Flip finishes off the track on verse three bringing the whole story and bigger picture together on how it all started stating "Me & Jones go back like a Jordan Retro, Talking 911, Twin Towers, Boston Metro, Railroad Street was where I saw my first trees, Recording at my Moms crib on my own beats". Jackson shares the trials & tribulations of being a white kid from a small suburban town and being excluded and an outsider the majority of his life growing up for falling in love with the Hip Hop culture and how it shaped him to this day.
