DGS Records & Flip Jackson return just over a year after releasing the life inspired "Follow The Leader" album to start 2022 with more life experiences, lessons and blessings on wax with his second self produced & written body of work "Growing Pains"

The 7 Track EP is influenced by the 7 Days in the week with each song resembling a specific day of the week starting off with "Bright Lights" for Sunday and ending with "God's Plan" on Saturday.

"Bright Lights" sparks the project off right where "Follow The Leader" left off with the soul driven, piano keys, rolling baselines and hard drums to lay the soundtrack as an ode to the hustling/trap lifestyle and the ups and downs that come with life in the fast lane and night life/city life.

'Monday Night Raw' follows the tone set with a classic "Bloody Money" sample flip into a raw boom trap style production with eerie notes of piano keys, marching band style drums, booming 808s, and intense baritone vocals from Flip speaking on a few situations that had occurred behind the scenes in the music/entertainment business where his loyalty left him left out in the cold after years of dedication and hard work.

"THC" (The Hustle Continues) keeps the energy up while lightening the mood allowing Flip to tap into his underground boom bap roots with a beautiful vintage Kanye West style soul sample singing in Chipmunk "We Belong To The City".

Flip opens up and gets more personal in "THC" about some of the situations discussed in the previous track "Monday Night Raw" and explains how even when things didn't go well or as planned or when shit completely hit the fan; as long as he didn't give up or quit he was able to preserve and overcome any and all obstacles.

Flip teams up with previous collaborator Uncle Sam MC, now known as DRIF SONIX, on the groovy, wavy and jazzy inspired "Carson Beach"which was actually wrote and recorded inside a modified box truck van mobile recording studio at Carson Beach in Boston, MA during June 2021 while DRIF SONIX was up visiting from Atlanta. Flip & Sam go back and forth via there verses kicking that smooth, fly shit running their respective marathons and living LFOD lifestyle and mind state to the fullest!

Next up on "Growing Pains" is the pain influenced and feeling overlooked inspired "Can I Live". Flip pays homage to Jay Z's "Can I Live" with his own version of a conversation with himself as he asks the simple yet powerful question of "Can I Live" on the hook speaking on staying down till he came up, putting in years of work and not being paid/stolen from, and associating people that may not have your best interest at heart and learning to see the snakes in the grass from a distance.

On track six, Flip continues his celebration & love for the Hip Hop with "Married To The Game" featuring Wreckless Gang Mafia's own Jay Envy. Flip & Jay both state their vows to the game they married decades ago and what they do music for.

To close out the project, Flip ends the "Growing Pains" project off with an electrifying and energizing street ballad titled "God's Plan". With rattling bass, upbeat percussion and snares and murderous synths and guitars, Jackson speaks on a lot of personal experiences from growing up, family life, trapping/hustling, decisions/mistakes, friends/aquaintances and his ultimate love for music and dedication to his dream of being a musician.
